Ok I got my PW and opened a Blog for progress on the Tragedy in Tragidor Remake. So far things seem to be working very well.

I have put a timeline on the wiki that is accessible from the home page of the weave. It starts at the time of troubles and works its way up to the present year 1373 plus the next two years after that. The TOC that contains the dates is autogenerated. So when a module is added to the timeline all one has to do is prefix the name of the module with "!!!" and it will appear in the timeline TOC.
Since this page is viewable by the general public I would suggest only putting in modules that are complete in the timeline. Feel free to add modules that were in NWN1 to the timeline, like the Wyvern Crown (hint hint). Some more interesting information about categories. If a page is assigned to a category then a user *must* login to visit the page. So if we want pages to be accessible to the general public they cannot be part of a category. So my inital thought of having to keep content separate was wrong in that people viewing the site that have not logged in can not access pages or items that are in catgories, even if the page that they can view links to the page. |

Very nice, Styraxian.
![]() The PDFs that you've linked to the timeline are an excellent resource. I guess we can copy some stuff from there to the timeline, too (regarding the last couple of years, for example). If that is okay, I, for example, can do that. By the way, do we want to have the novels (that are mentioned in the timeline) to be marked in some special way? (I can go through the list if I just know what to do with the names of the novels.) As for the NWN1 modules... NWN OC, SoU and HotU should be included in the timeline. And perhaps the premium modules could be included. About the rest of the NWN modules I don't know (and perhaps Styraxian didn't even mean the non-official stuff). Adding more stuff also brings more restrictions. And we need to avoid adding any events such that result in incompatibilities, of course. That means that we'd need to be selective in which modules we allow. Also, there might be some events (gods dying, etc.) such that we'd want to deliberate about whether to allow such events to have taken place, or not. I don't know if I'll be playing many NWN1 modules in the near future, but I may be playing some that could be included if we deem it appropriate (DoD, Saleron's Gambit I-V, etc.). If I do play them, I can take notes. And if we want to include some modules but aren't playing them, we can, of course, ask for some help: the authors of the modules might very well be willing to give us the information that we'd want. But, well, we won't be able to even allow everything. So, including non-official modules might be somewhat arbitrary an endeavor. EDIT: Perhaps the PDFs shouldn't be copied, after all. "A Grand History of the Forgotten Realms" is a pretty impressive achievement, however. Should we be content with providing a link to it, and compiling in the wiki a timeline from the modules, only, to be used in addition to that? Or is it good to have a general timeline, too, in the wiki? Of course it is sort of cool to see the modules embedded in a more general timeline, though... EDIT 2: A present day chronology is useful, too (either in the wiki, as it is, or as given by a link)... EDIT 3: Well, that was cryptic (what I wrote in EDIT 1 and EDIT 2 about the timeline)... So, just to recap: The timeline that we now have in the wiki could be complemented with some more entries (and perhaps with some geographical references, etc.). If we want to do that, the only feasible way of proceeding is plausibly using the existing, more detailed timelines (with appropriate credit given them, of course). If we can't/don't want to do that, we could also live without a *general* timeline, I suggested. But if we can do that (use the other timelines available in complementing the existing one), and want to do that, I can help with that. (Incidentally, even a timeline of the finished modules will have spoilers in it. So, a public timeline should eventually be so organized that one can easily avoid reading any information about the events in modules such that one hasn't played.) Cheers, Lariam |

Well Right now I haven't provided dates yet per say, I'll have to see how things turn out when I actually get to completing the module and seeing how the conversations have to be changed to accomodate the NWN2 toolset.
I have updated my Blog though and have another 3 areas done. I think I have like 6 left. |

I was thinking that the expansions and the premium modules be added to the timeline. I added SoU expansion to the timeline, but can't find when Hordes should be placed. So feel free to add them.
As for novels, not sure if we want them on the time line or not. If we keep them I want to change the formatting to make it understood that they are novels. Perhaps put the title in italics? As for what information should be in a modules description, I am thinking just what the Vault would have so that there would be no spoilers. I am thinking that there is going to be another timeline for builders only that contains more specific information about the module so that other builders can coordinate with the module and make them all work together. This timeline will not have any of the FR Canon events, but only module information. |

Okay - seems cool to me. As for the novels, they only seem to be mentioned here in this timeline. In the PDFs that you've linked to the timeline, they are usually given as references for some events that are mentioned in the timeline explicitly. But if they have no such function here, I'm fine with deleting them. On the other hand, I'm also fine with leaving them there. Perhaps they might be useful..? And yes, using italics would be great there.
I think I made some notes about the date of WCoC somewhere (in the game journal, probably) when I was playing it (I run into a lag bug that prevented me from finishing it). I'll check it out when I get home. I think it was 1374 DR, but I'm not sure. HotU I don't know about. I did some searhces in the internet, but couldn't find even any educated guesses. Although it presumably takes place around 1373-1374... Cheers, Lariam |

Oh, quick note though...
I wanted to create a Page there but it seems in the Admin rights I am unable to create a page. I can't find any button that allows me to create something, I can edit and remove, but not create. |

Let me take a look and see what the problem is....
I tweaked the permissions and maybe it helped. On the left side menu there should be a quick edit page box. In there type in the name of the page, no spaces, that you want to create. It will give you an edit dialog box that you can put information into. At the top there is a link to show categories. Click this to put the page in a category if you want. There should be more options on the wiki menu to find orphan pages and do a search. Let me figure that out and hopefully you will have the tools you need to play with the wiki. =) |

Added a link on the main page to a Guidelines page with a link to the forum thread here that is discussing the guidelines for the modules. Also created a reference to a resource page from the main page. The page does not exist so first one to click on the question mark next to it gets to create it. =) Also updated the link on the main page to go directly to this project's forums rather than the main forums page.
Added a new category called Modules with a link to Tragedy's page that Phoenixus created yesterday. |
