Default Choosing a Good Hosting Company

Sea of Dragons will need a server before we can announce open beta. I've located a couple possibilities but I'd be interested in hearing what recommendations other admins have. I would host it myself but I don't have a substantial enough internet connection to pull it off. That is why we are going with the rented server option.

Just a FYI, i use Calpop for some things at work, and i noticed they are a wholesaler whose ip ranges match most of those selling game hosting. Their pipe is on a main trunk, and frankly the cost of renting hardware is less than just access to a pipe that robust with how much bandwidth they provide -- it actually was cheaper than placing our own system in a colo to just use a system they built. But they are month to month unlike most colos, and they are not cheap either. Probably out of your range but i have a lot of peers very happy after moving there.

That one is out of our price range for the time being. Until we can get a dedicated playerbase that is willing to make financial contributions we'll have to start small. But we do need to get this project going before such a playerbase is even possible so I'm willing to put up what is needed for a minimal package myself. So far servers that support 10 players or so are within my price range. To go larger, I'd have to have active contributors help me out.

I'll give others some time to respond with their suggestions before I post which companies I've located during my search. I'm curious to see if anyone recommends either one without my having to give out their names.

Here are the two server companies that host NWN2 game servers that I've located thus far. At the moment I'm looking at renting a 10 player server on a month-to-month basis until we get a steady population logging in.

I'm going with Art of War unless someone can give Arising Storm a good word. I'm not sure I put much stock into companies with poorly setup webpages and extra low pricing.
