Question A Flicker Of Hell?

Question:

If I were to submit just the first layer of Hell (a test-bed to see how I am doing and the overall opinion of the masses), would this be detrimental to my story or would this be more helpful? I guess it would be like putting a teaser trailer out except, I don't want everyone to know what the premise is completely.

Suggestions are appreciated.

I would solicit for a few folks to look it over and have them eval the area. That way, you don't have an open release that gives too much away and you can focus the review of the area on just how things look without having to go into the story.

just a thought,

This is what the ftp site is also for - a place to put works-in-progress so that others can view it. Not everyone knows how to access the ftp site so it reduces the number of eyes that can look at it.

I would definitely like someone to play test it (though not for mechanics sake, just for the story immersion part).

Maybe a small group to shoot it out to and have it play tested is a good idea.

I am a little leery of the criticism yet, would welcome it also.

I think it is good but, hey, I created it. Is it great? Well, in our own minds, it usually is. Others however, maybe it isn't all that.

Gotta build up the bravery a bit. We got a lot of talented folks out there and it is hard throwing something out against the likes of the folks who are truly adept with the toolset and module making in general.

(I will now go suck my thumb in a corner and ponder this decision).

Thanks for the input all ...

happy to chip in with some playtesting of demos. I'd second avoiding a test run on the vault. things get buried quickly, and the system there isn't great for bug hunting reports

Hey ST, this is part of that process we were talking about. Why we don't finish modules. You gotta jump. This is the best way to do that. And you're right, we have a lot of talented folks with experience here that can review for you.

That's a good thing. You should know by now that no-one involved in this is going to just criticise your efforts. They're going to critique it. This will make your efforts that much better for it and I would recommend highly taking your shot. The sooner the better for maintaining momentum.

best regards,
dunniteowl
